Young Family Home in Bankenveld

About the project

Brief

Change the interior and exterior of this traditional home without making any structural changes, to a modern space was the brief from a young couple. They wanted a modern upmarket space that reflected their needs and style and allowed for entertaining.

What we did

Face brick areas on the exterior were plastered and the house repainted in tones of grey.  The cement pillar balustrades were replaced with modern stainless ones. The once round Tuscan pillars were squared and tiled in natural toned sandstone. Extensive landscaping was done to the garden and all the patios were replaced with Battleship Grey Quartz Flooring.

Internally the house was very traditional with wooden floors and architraves, wooden cabinetry throughout and glass bricks. We removed the tiles and replaced them with beautiful porcelain tiles. All the architraves and skirtings were repainted, glass bricks replaced and focal bulkheads were installed to accommodate various lighting.

Customised cabinetry brought light into the space and provides sleek looking storage.

Working closely with the clients, we produced a gorgeous interior with acute attention to detail in all the interior design finishings and furnishings. Their home is a true testament to their style and their vision that they had for the space.
